‘Twas the day before our trip to Eswatini and everything was anything but calm.
As the pupils looked forward to the journey they would embark on the next day, there was still much to get done before they could play.
The 24 hours prior to departure were ones filled with interviews, illness and intense editing. All that could be heard across the Rivonia Premier Lodge were the sounds of sniffles, space bars clicking, and snippets of interviews playing.
The students’ diligent work made them hungry of course, so trips to cafes and orders on UberEats were endorsed.
Efficiency was the name of the game for all to meet their deadlines, so they could properly begin to prepare to see the new skylines. As the day progressed, so did the progress of the students’ projects. As the stories began to follow their arcs, the students’ minds lit up like sparks. Soon, the sounds of complete projects started to ruminate as the students marveled at each other’s work which “ate”.
Once, the sun had set and dinner was soon to be met, some of the students joined the professors to feast. At this dinner, tales of love and theater were shared to accompany the delicious food that was unleashed. As all of the stomachs were pleased, one final push was all that was needed for these assignments to be complete.
As six-letter words began to cement each interview into the flash drive on hand. Breaths of reliefs rang all throughout the land. Which meant that the switch to complete focus on Eswatini began.
With the weekly assignment in the past, all that was left to do was pack. Packing for a one day trip seems easy to do, but that is until you have no brain cells left to actually think things through. A mere joke that was, as we can all still very much think, but boy oh boy do we need a drink.
So as the stars shine in Rivonia tonight, all that’s left to do is to sleep oh so tight. In just a matter of time, we will all be crossing that border line, meeting a village of people who are nothing but kind.
While the sheer anticipation makes it so hard to sleep, in just a matter of hours, the wait will retreat.
‘Twas the day before our trip to Eswatini and what a day it was, but tomorrow we will happily be in a marvelous new village filled with buzz.
